A Heart that Gives & Willingly Gives…

There are two kinds of people in the world. Some are takers. Some are givers. A taker is someone who is so self-absorbed that everything is about them. Even when it seems that they are concerned about something, like at a funeral and they may weep it is only because they are thinking of their own loss, not anything but that. Tears of self-pity.

A taker looks out for number 1 first (themselves) and most are hoarders. Always keeping, never giving. They would keep something knowing they would never use it before giving it to another. Justification? ‘Well I may need this one day’.

If and this is stretching it, but if they give something to another it is not their best as it ought to be and always there is a motive behind the giving. A motive that involves who else? The taker. Always what can I get if I do this? A mentality that elevates self. Nothing is done from love, but only selfish ambition.

A mentality that most takers have in common is the ‘victim mentality’. Takers always blame and never accept responsibility for anything wrong. It is ‘poor me’, look what so and so did to me. They brag falsely about all they do to help others, but never lift a finger.

I want people to say I am a giver with no motives, just love. A giver is someone who is selfless for the most part. They would rather others be put first than their needs attended to. You see they realize God takes care of His own. Giving brings joy to them. They love seeing others cared for.

A true giver tries to not let the world know what was given. They realize if it is known, the one receiving may feel obligated to repay. The giver knows it was never theirs anyway. It all belongs to God.

A giver gives from the heart, not expecting anything back. Has no motives in giving except to see the blessing that might occur.

The one thing I hope people say and remember about me is that I gave and gave lavishly.
