Working with Passion

People that spark my imagination are those that whatever job or project they endeavor on they work as if they owned the company. Half stepping is not in their vocabulary. These people put everything they have into the job and it shows. More importantly they have a wonderful attitude while working.

My husband happens to be one of these folks. I used to ask him why he put so much effort in this. His response was that was what they paid him for and he did this seemingly as if it was nothing. He would tell me that he made the choice to take it on so his work ethic left me desiring the same. This man does everything with pride, as if it were his own. I admire that. Don’t get me wrong; I do a job that I take but do I do it to the best of my ability? No and again no. The Word says we should work as if the job was given by the Lord and truthfully they always are, but I can drum up in my head 101 ways to finish quicker without considering the quality. A break here, a smoke here, a restroom run there, a short conversation with a co-worker and you see how quality can be affected. Quality takes time and when skimping on time put in it will always reveal itself to lack.

Truthfully, I hate to admit this defect in my character, but there is freedom in confessing sin. Sin? Yes, sin because that is what we do when we don’t work as unto the Lord.

Have I made a turn around? No, probably never will but who knows? Sometimes things rub off on me. Be blessed.
