Destination Unknown:

Taking a cruise on a luxurious cruise ship, destination unknown, has always been something I desired to do. No connections to the world unless I wanted to be connected seemed like such peace that you wonder who would not like this adventure. Sailing the waters all cozy and peaceful was my desire before leaving this world. Until..

Until, that is, about 15 years ago when I began watching Shark Week. I had seen the movie Jaws and Orca and to be honest they did shake me some, but not enough to disgard my cruise. Then, I noticed cruise liners were sinking it seemed more often. So, after watching Titanic this was solidified in my mind. Cruise ships were not safe. At least not 100% of the time and I needed this staggering percentage if I were to go cruising.

But, even these things didn’t totally make me throw away my dream trip. Then came Shark Week which I must admit I am a fan of. However, Shark Week was the ‘nail in the coffin’ so to speak that turned my dream trip into a nightmare or horror story. Watching those angry specimens glide through the waters scared me so bad that I do not even consider the idea of a cruise. The long, sharp and jagged teeth they have coupled with the black souless eyes that seem to pierce right through you even on television were enough to change my agenda.

Asking what it would take to change my mind and book a cruise is a pointless question. Unless you can get rid of all the sharks and I say all because if it has a fin it is a shark, at least to me, then a cruise is off the table.
