No Matter What

Budgeting is easy for me. At least making a budget on paper. I can easily make a budget and within 10 months or so I have saved quiet a bit of money at least on paper. The problem for me is following the budget. This gets me every time and right back in the red I am.

The budgets I do are attainable with money for personal use as well. So, why can I not follow them? Well, I am a very spontaneous kind of girl so when I see something I like, I do not put it off, I buy it right then. On the way home I may ponder the reasons why I should not have purchased it, but too late now so let’s enjoy. Tomorrow may never come someone once quoted and I ride that wave religiously.

As I have gotten older my approach to budgeting is somewhat different. I make sure on a certain day which I call the dreaded bill day that all bills get paid, at least the minimum. Now, I can enjoy the rest of the month, right? No, you noticed I said minimum, right? That applies to credit cards. So, again just like when I was younger I pull out the credit card for any spontaneous moment that occurs.

I have decided that the only way to approach budgeting with the right mindset is to stay home so temptation doesn’t get me. But, oh the internet and online shopping. Well, discipline and patience are the things I really need so let’s start over.

Really though budgeting is not that hard and the things I just spoke of are true. I want to make one thing crystal clear in my approach to this dreaded thing called budgeting. The first thing I do and I mean very first is I give God His. No matter what doesn’t get paid He gets His. I have found and this is no lie that when I do this that all things get paid. I do not know how this happens, but it does. God promises us that if we do this simple act that He will bless our socks off (my words, not His) but the same thing. So, why would anyone not take action? Unfortunately some do not, however.

Leaving all with a little wisdom I have attained I tell you, ‘NO MATTER WHAT, give God His first’. You cannot go wrong. Like myself, you will be amazed and left scratching your head as to how this can happen when the bills far outweigh the income, but God is God and His ways are not our ways. So, rejoice, you blessed man or woman, and remember when next month rolls around to do the same. No matter what!
