I absolutely love the fall. Temps at high 70’s and lows in the 50’s. This weather invigorates me. Something about the chilly nights makes me feel alive. I live in Alabama and growing up I remember having 4 seasons, but something happened where we skipped fall and spring and almost skipped winter and summer became the all year forecast. Summer with highs in the 90’s and sometimes 100’s with humidity that is ungodly became our year round season. I despised it and longed to move where it snowed 12 months of the year.
But, this year was different and I told my husband last September that I thought we would finally have a winter, then have 4 seasons again. Guess what? We had a winter and not a short one either. I love it. I hope I am right about having 4 seasons once again. Time will tell.
Sweater weather or ‘fall’ is intoxicating. I love winter clothing much more than summer clothing. The coats, the boots, the sweaters with layering are my favorites. People just look better with fall & winter clothing. It can hide a lot as well, lol. So, now after 15 years of one big summer I can finally wear the clothes I love.
The ‘fall’ reminds me of growing up and hanging out with friends at football games. It reminds me of just having fun and on those chilly nights finding that special person to snuggle up with and enjoy the closeness.
Maybe other seasons can have the same effect, but not for me. Mine is ‘sweater weather’ or the fall when leaves are multiple colors shimmering in the wind. That is God’s greatest creation of seasons – absolutely breathtaking.
