I have never liked clubs. I feel as though clubs are for those that need to feel important and think they are more special than others. This mindset is really people who carry a spirit of rejection. You know the kind. They feel everyone is ignoring them and most are because rejection causes people to not want to be around them and they don’t even know why. So, I don’t do clubs.
The question, ‘How have my political views changed over the years?’ is quite simple. They haven’t. If I had to decide on a party, I guess it would be the Independent party, but since I don’t have to decide, I go with the person I believe is best suited for the position. The thing is that no matter which party you choose, the person running for office may or may not be on board with the party’s ways. And speaking of ways those parties are a joke. No one can say with certainty that the face of that party (the one running for office) believes all the clubs standards and will adhere to them. Once in office, it is up to the candidate really.
I hate politics. I look at the individual and even then it is not foolproof, but better than looking at a party. The people or the popular vote is a smoke screen. We may believe our votes count, but sadly they do not. Only the electoral votes count. Yes, you may say, “Well, we vote for those people and you would be right, but who is to say that that person will vote as I would? I much rather cast my own vote instead of relying on someone else to vote for me. That is exactly what is happening. I have to trust that the electoral person’s vote is the same as mine would be and I don’t trust that. Do you? Change needs to happen.
Another thing, over the years the parties standards have changed. Republicans look like Democrats and Democrats like Republicans used to look. I cannot remember a time when the Republican party would have given a person with multiple felonies a nod for becoming their face, but they did. Don’t get me wrong, I could care less about their criminal record because most of the party’s members have done worse. They just didn’t get caught. Most of us are in the same boat. It is easy to throw dirt when it is not your own, but you better be careful because dirt is loosely packed and a slight breeze just may uncover some of your own dirt. Just saying…
So, you can see where I fall with politics and truthfully I have always saw it this way. I have stayed the same.
