The Most Amazing Day

Most people think in order for a day to be amazing that something great needs to happen in their life and happen for them. I tend to be the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, I love wonderful things to happen to me but the difference is I have the most amazing days when I give out instead of take in.

Let me explain. Receiving things are wonderful, but I realize I feel better when I give to another instead. Whether it be a word of encouragement, a listening ear, offer help in some way or many other ways I can bless someone. This takes work on my part and times I may not feel up to the task, but afterwards I see where this act of kindness blessed me more. I don’t understand it fully, but I know it happens. Giving causes my days to be quite extraordinary somehow.

Maybe it is a spirit of goodness in the air and somehow my gift has caused another person to be lifted up in some small way. This causes feelings of gratitude in myself and I realize most times things are good in my life for the most part. We all have the ability to pass on a kind act to another every single day, but will we use this opportunity to do so? Or will we sit and complain about how bad our day is, wallowing in self pity and the ‘nobody loves me’ blues?

Through years of lessons, some learned easy, some learned hard, I have come to understand that every day can be a most amazing day if I choose to do my part – give, be kind, smile, help someone. It doesn’t have to be huge, but something given to another causes the most amazing feelings to wash over me. Maybe this is only for me, but I don’t think so. If everyone would make at least one attempt to lift up someone else daily imagine the world we would live in. Evil and darkness cannot reside in the same space as goodness and light. One always wins out, but the choice is ours. What will your tomorrow bring that is amazing? Or will it bring something quite different? The choice is always yours.
