The Consequences of Idle Hands

Idle hands or an idle lifestyle wrecks havoc on lives. When we are not productive or we do not set goals, we find ourselves with too much thinking, stinking thinking, that is. We become restless, bored and our minds takes us places better left not visited. We may take risks that otherwise would not be taken simply to fill a void.

When we find things worthwhile to do and set about doing them, we feel productive and when the final phase is completed a sense of accomplishment overtakes us. Fulfillment is a good feeling and this boasts us on to something else to complete.

To live a life of unmet goals is a recipe for self-hatred and defines your life with regrets too many to count. One thing I’ve learned is when opportunity comes knocking, open that door and ride with it. Things may not turn out perfectly, but at least you have tried and that cannot be taken from you. Lessons learned, jobs fulfilled, and before long you find you have a book of knowledge.

I cannot name just one thing when I feel most productive because feeling productive comes in many shapes, sizes and places. I just strive to be productive in whatever or wherever opportunity knocks.
