Can a blog change the world? No, not immediately, but change is never accomplished with one step. Change begins with one simple step, but takes many to see the effects of the step. My hope in creating this blog is two-fold.
The first and should be with anyone writing is for myself. In writing I can express and release my inner feelings or demons at times. When I keep something bottled up inside it grows. So by keeping bad feelings in they cannot escape and will usually continue to cause issues for myself and others. They may lie dormant for a long time, but rest assured they will eventually awaken and begin their evil work.
Another reason is I receive answers to a lot of my questions. If you have ever been to a therapist or counselor you will notice that most, at least the good ones, do not talk much. They let you do the talking. The reason for this is we have the answers to our problems and by talking about things we will voice the answer to them. Who better than ourselves know the answers? When I write I receive answers to questions I have, just by writing. Writing is my voice. I hope I have given you a way to save some money if you see a counselor, lol. But, really it is true that you hold the key to your problems and any good counselor knows this.
The second hope in creating this blog is that in writing about things I can in some way help another person. Maybe someone reading my posts suddenly sees a way out of their quandary. Most times people can receive from a person they do not know instead of someone close. Why? I cannot answer that with any wise words, but possibly a person thinks they should know the answer and by asking someone close they feel foolish or they don’t want others to know their issue because oh my what would they think? Silly, I know, but I bet true if you are honest. There could be lots of reasons for this, but my hope is that maybe my experiences will help another person in some way whether big or small and save them some money, lol.
Back to the writing prompt today of what change would I like my blog to make in this world. As mentioned before a simple post will not change the world immediately and certainly won’t change everyone, but just as change begins with one step so I hope with my blog – one post at a time can begin to change the world.
