How does one describe being ‘a kid at heart’? Kids have little if any responsibility so they enjoy everything with no worries of consequences. As adults enjoyment can happen but things must be weighed against consequences so being a kid at heart cannot encompass enjoying everything without weighing consequences of things.
However, some things can occur as an adult living life as a kid at heart. The meaning I see from this is life can be lived and enjoyed as adults without stressing on spilled milk, so to speak. Having fun cannot happen if we are so uptight over the small stuff and as is said everything is small stuff or can be if we view life differently without all the stressors adults like to bring. Setting aside time and activities where we allow nothing to invade or interrupt our ‘fun time’. Remembering if something should happen during this time to let it go. It is really no big deal and too many tears or anger are shed over spilled milk.
Kids love fun and their focus is pretty steadfast when involved in most activities. Adults can do the same, but practice is needed to discipline our minds. Kids rarely think much about how they look when having fun. Adults could learn a thing or two if they would do the same. Who cares how you look if you are enjoying life with loved ones? I assure you it is only in your mind that you might look silly. Try looking silly and see what happens.
Kids don’t worry about a schedule to be met. That is why they have so much fun and at night sleep is sound. They don’t keep a ‘to do’ list. The list consisting of things needed done and marked off keeping fun out of the equation.
Kids are vulnerable. Their life is an open book. No secrets really because in their mind secrets don’t exist. Adults would do well to take a lesson from this. Be approachable, make friends and have fun.
