You know, somewhere along the way to adulthood our inner child gets lost or locked up in the closet of our minds. Adults don’t act like children. They don’t laugh and have fun. They are all about taking care of business and business cannot be fun. What a lie we have told ourselves.
Life is meant to be experienced with childlike wonder. Laughter, fun, amazement and so much more. We have not traveled this day in time before so why is it that we must act as if we have? As if all must be serious and chore like in order to be in the adult arena?
How we view things is how our minds will respond and determine how we feel. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Life is a gift from above and our Creator desires for us to have joy in this life. I said joy, not happiness. Yet, happiness can be a major benefit of adulthood. Happiness is not an all the time feeling, but joy can be. We can have joy in the worst of times. Joy is knowing that no matter how things may appear at a certain time that something good will be the end result. It is faith. Faith in God’s words and God says He will give us joy.
Next time you are out in the adult arena, laugh, let your hair down, let that inner child out of the closet, have fun or better yet, make someone else laugh. It might be contagious.
