What some call instincts I call ‘a gut feeling’. Same thing, just expressed differently. A gut feeling is something felt deep inside that cannot be explained logically, but you know it is right. I reason to always go with my gut feelings especially if I know nothing about what I’m searching for. It is a pull that beckons, ‘Listen, listen. This is the way. Choose it’. So, 90% of the time I do just that – listen and obey. Rarely if ever has my gut feeling led me wrong.
There are times when the direction to take is unclear and it is at these times that listening for that voice or feeling which I have come to know as the Holy Spirit is crucial. It may not make any sense at the time, but so many things make no sense presently, but later on you find that it made perfect sense. Regrets only come to those who allow their own logic to prevail and push aside ‘gut feelings’.
Your instincts will not lead you wrong. They are more like survival tools needed at times when nothing makes sense. Crossroad times are the perfect time to use them. When logically either way seems ok to choose, pause and allow your instinct or ‘gut feeling’ to decide the way. We have these for a reason so put them to use. Others may wonder why but you owe nothing to other people when making decisions regarding the path you will take, so push aside interventions or advice from others if your gut feeling says otherwise. This you will not regret.
Do you trust your gut feelings? If not, why? Think back on times this feeling was strong. What happened? My advice? Go with your inner voice, instinct, or as I call it – my gut feelings.
