Every generation has it’s own style and hindsight tells all. I, myself, am a 1980’s chic and while the style was loud, bright, big and worthy of a double take I loved this era. The style of that decade is one worthy of a comeback in my opinion.
The 1960’s introduced mini shirts, leather and slicked back hair. Although the hair could have been better, overall the 60’s made a mark worth revisiting.
The 1990’s didn’t do a lot to be remembered for. Kind of back of the class stuff that didn’t make a big impact. Very conservative and almost dreary.
The 2000’s made their mark with bedazzled clothing, low rise everything, big, loose clothing almost tacky looking yet cool and comfy. This era could make a comeback soon with their sister eras 60’s style of rebellion. Chunky shoes & all.
The 2010 and up had a mix of trends from 80’s and 90’s thrown together. But, the skinny skin tight jeans, the bandage dresses and men’s dress pants being too tight could get lost in history without a fight from most people.
Then, we have the 1970’s. Ahh, how bad can it get? Big lapels, platform shoes, the mix of fabrics with atrocious colors gets the prize for the worst fashion statement in history. Please bury the designers choices for that time never to see the light of day again and the hair?? Omg, what a disaster. Long, curly fros, greasy looking folks and the hair everywhere. Just gross. Let’s lose that trend forever. The 1970’s wins for worst fashion trend in history. Surely they knew how bad they looked and just didn’t care.
