So many excuses. An excuse is just a reason to delay something. The excuse I hear most is, ‘Let me pray about it’. This is an attempt to get the person off the hook while blaming God. How awful is this? Don’t get me wrong I believe we should pray about things, but when used as a way out that seems almost blasphemous. The Bible tells us to not put off what we can do today and that if something is in our power to do, do it. If you don’t want to do whatever it is, just say no. Don’t blame God. Be a man or woman and speak truth. Too often people hide behind God instead of speaking the truth.
Some things need prayer, but mostly those things concern us. When someone asks you for something why do you need to pray about it? You already know the answer and God gives us wisdom to make right choices so prayer isn’t necessary for most stuff. Cowards use the excuse, ‘Let me pray about it’. You will not hear back from them on the answer because they are not going to pray about something they are not willing to do. That excuse is an easy out for them and they claim to be God fearing folks. How disturbing.
There are lots of excuses out there and most are not good, but the worst is, ‘Let me pray about it’. Quit blaming God indirectly and be an adult by taking the responsibility of your answers.
