‘Bad company corrupts good character’ has the same outcome and moral as ‘Birds of a feather flock together’.
I have spent time or hung out with God during different times in my life and I can testify that these times brought something good to my life each and every time. Why I don’t seem to remember this at times can only be attributed to flesh having more power at these times and by my choice.
The times in my life when all things were stable and peaceful were when God & I hung out. Things may not have looked peaceful, but my heart being at peace and confident that God had whatever may be coming was stronger than what things looked like.
I began a relationship with the Lord many years ago and have never regretted it. My regret lies in the fact that when I allow intervention from other sources I spiral down a path I wish I had not taken.
This reminder comes at times I choose other ways and immediately I realize my mistake. Over and over I repeat this and over and over God rescues me. Sometimes a little roughed up, but alive.
It would do anyone well to have a reminder posted at the door before leaving home. A note maybe reading like American Express touts, ‘Don’t leave home without Him’.
You can leave the American Express card at home, but never leave God behind. This, my friend, is wisdom.
