Hindsight

Have you ever looked back at things and saw clearly what should have been seen then? Yet, you didn’t see it then. Only now, with regret and heartbreak, things are seen crystal clear. Why is this? Why could you not see it then?

I don’t have your answers, only mine. But something tells me they may be the same. Looking back on my regrets I see that being so caught up in self had a lot to do with what I saw. Always consumed with me, me, me that I never looked at what was really going on. Afraid I was doing too much of the work and being used I could not see what was plainly in front of me. So, so not true, but when you are caught up in self that is the lie you begin to believe.

When you are not giving 100% out of love, people get abandoned and signs get ignored. When you put yourself above loved ones needs, reality becomes blurred and love takes a backseat. Only to be seen in hindsight and then it is too late.

When your better half is down and you offer no encourgement and help, things spiral downhill real quick. Harsh words are produced and feelings don’t matter – only yours.

All of these and more make hindsight 20/20. Oh, what a shame and you have to live with the consequences you created. Tears flow, apologies are given to the wind and heartbreak becomes your reality. Pain becomes your way of life.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Get out of yourself and lend a loving hand. Help your other half up. Pray, love and give all you can. When you do this things may change or may not. But, the one thing you will get is ‘no regrets’ when hindsight comes knocking.
