YOU Make the Difference…

A few years ago something started in our world that was contagious, at least for a little while. This movement coined the words, ‘Pass it On. Kindness, that is’. The jist of this phenomenon was to do a kind thing for another, typically a stranger and encourage the person to pass kindness on. I absolutely loved it. I began immediately.

I understand that for some people this can be hard to do. Fear may get in the way and you think that you cannot afford this, but some things cost nothing and I tend to think that these freebies are the best acts of kindness. A smile offered, a hug given, a prayer prayed, a job done for another like cutting their grass or taking their trash to the dumpster. These cost nothing monetarily, but probably yield the best dividends. So, let’s try this again and watch the magic unfold.

I ordered coins that on one side said, ‘ The bearer of this coin is to do one kind thing for another today. Kindness makes a difference’ while the other side said ‘Pass it On’. After the act of kindness was done, you handed this gold coin to that person saying, ‘Pass it On’. It spread quickly. But, with Covid being in the mix it suffered.

The kind act could be anything you wanted to give. A meal, a smile, a kind word, a kind deed, gas at the station, coffee paid for by the car in front of you, the list is endless – just do it, then pass it on. I don’t think we even know the magic this created. I by nature am a giver. I love giving. The crazy thing is as much as I give, I get blessed more. You cannot outgive God.  He is the ultimate Giver.

Shyness gets in the way at times for some, but do it anyway. The more you do it the easier it becomes. Let’s not let this movement take a ba , but make it a way of life. What an awesome world we could live in. One act of kindness a day, then pass it on. You don’t have to have coins to pass, but if not, make sure your act yells ‘pass it on’. Kindness prevails. Let’s see what happens together. See you on the side of kindness…
